Apex has signed an exclusive contract for circa £750,000 to implement the IT infrastructure for the new £26m site at St John’s School, Marlborough. The new site based in Wiltshire, is privately funded and is due to open in December this year and promises teachers, students and the surrounding community to be a school and college that utilises the very best IT facilities.
The solution consists of an HP server architecture along with a Cisco fibre network that supports a VMware virtualised environment with Cisco unified communications. These components working together will ensure an optimised and efficient infrastructure and will provide a higher level of service to the end user.
Barry Worth, St John’s Bursar & Internal Project Manager, commented “Apex has been contracted by the Governing Body to supply a bespoke IT System covering both data and communications. In working closely with Apex, we have put in place the best ICT systems the school could have hoped for. This will help our students learn in a dynamic environment and will also help us achieve our targets for greater efficiency as well as reducing our costs”.
Stuart Bulley, Apex’s Commercial Director, commented “We are proud to have been chosen for this prestigious project. We are excited to be working with St John’s school to ensure we deliver the very best IT facilities that will help them deliver a first class learning environment”.
